Light House Club, a nightclub on Admiralty Way in Lekki, was closed by the Lagos State Government due to excessive loudness.
The operation was conducted Monday by a team consisting of officers from the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) and the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps.
The announcement was posted on X (previously Twitter) by Mr. Tokunbo Wahab, the Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources.
"Until the club installs adequate soundproofing and passes a LASEPA assessment to ensure it satisfies the noise restriction, it will remain closed."
The government will not permit entertainment venues to violate environmental regulations, Wahab continued.
"You have to abide by our laws. "More important than corporate profits is the right of Lagos residents to live in peace," he stated.
